The NHS Friends and Family Test asks patients whether they would recommend the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust to their friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment.
Every patient visiting our hospital wards, emergency departments, maternity services, outpatients and day case departments is able to give real time feedback on the quality of the care they receive, giving us a better understanding of the needs of our patients and enabling us to make improvements where necessary.
When you are discharged, or within the 48 hours that follow, you will be asked to answer the following question:
Patients are invited to respond to the question by choosing one of six options, ranging from "extremely likely" to "extremely unlikely". Patients will also have the opportunity to explain why they have given their answer. Patients are asked to answer the question before going home, or are invited to do so by returning the postcard.
If you have not already completed a survey for your recent visit, you can complete the NHS Friends and Family Test online here.
Friends and Family Test cards can also be printed and returned via Freepost by clicking on the links below:
We also have the survey available in different formats such as Large Print and Easy Read, and also a simplified version of the survey.
For a Braille copy, please contact the Patient Experience Team on 0118 322 8082.
The survey is also available in Polish, Portuguese, Punjabi, Nepali and Urdu.
