Maternity bereavement care

You may be reading this because you have recently experienced a late miscarriage, termination for medical reasons, stillbirth or the death of your baby.

We wish to offer our sincerest condolences, and to help you through this difficult time. Our team recognise that this can be a painful and complex journey, and aim to provide emotional and practical support to families during this time.

The maternity bereavement specialist team is here to offer ongoing practical, emotional support and information in the weeks and months following the loss of a baby. We can provide guidance around difficult decisions such as funeral planning, legal requirements and entitlements, or support to understand options around testing to find out why this has happened.

We continue to care for you and your family after your loss, helping with follow up care with a doctor and/or specialist midwife to discuss any tests and results, and to make ongoing plans for support and care in any future pregnancies. We also provide information about local and national support groups and counselling services.
