Patients and visitors

The latest visitor guidance for staff, family and friends

Help us keep patients, staff and volunteers safe

In line with government guidance, all staff must wear a face mask when on site and all patients and visitors should wear either a face mask/covering for the duration of their visit. If you are able to, please bring a mask/covering with you or ask a member of staff who will be happy to assist. Thank you for helping us reduce the spread of the virus.

NHS wear a face mask in hospital

You do not need to wear a face covering if you have a legitimate reason not to. This includes (but is not limited to):

  • young children under the age of 11 (Public Health England do not recommended face coverings for children under the age of 3 for health and safety reasons)
  • not being able to put on, wear or remove a face covering because of a physical or mental illness or impairment, or disability
  • if putting on, wearing or removing a face covering will cause you severe distress
  • if you are travelling with or providing assistance to someone who relies on lip reading to communicate

We are doing all we can to reduce the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) and protect our patients, staff and volunteers.

Send a special message to your loved one in the Royal Berkshire Hospital

With visiting restrictions still in place, we understand that this continues to be a very difficult time for our patients and their families. As well as virtual visiting via phones and ipads on each ward, you can also download a card to send to your loved one.  Your message will be hand delivered to your friend or loved one on their ward.
