A diagnosis and any possible treatment cannot be decided till all the relevant investigations are completed

Multi-disciplinary team

All new patients with an Upper GI cancer are discussed at the weekly Multi-disciplinary meeting (MDT).

It’s an opportunity to discuss each patient with a variety of specialities including surgeons, gastroenterologists, Oncologists and radiologists to decide a treatment plan.

The information is then shared with you when you come for your appointment.

Treatment

Treating Upper GI cancer is dependent on many factors and this will be discussed with you in your appointment.

Surgery, chemotherapy, immunotherapy and radiotherapy are available where indicated.
