Community Liver Health Checks
The Liver Health Team at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust is providing free Liver Health Checks across the Thames Valley to help improve liver health and detect potential issues early.
The liver performs around 500 essential functions, including breaking down food and converting it into energy. As one of the body's most vital organs, maintaining liver health is crucial for overall well-being.
A Liver Health Check is a quick and simple way to assess liver function. The check includes a short lifestyle and family history questionnaire, followed by a non-invasive liver scan. This scan, which provides instant results, measures liver stiffness using shear wave technology—healthy livers are soft, while stiffness may indicate potential concerns.
These free checks are available at multiple locations across Thames Valley. Visit one of our upcoming events to get your liver checked and take a proactive step toward better health.
