New Hospital Programme – Royal Berkshire

The New Hospital Programme (NHP) was re-evaluated by the current Government in January 2025 and as a result our New Hospital Programme has been paused and moved into wave 4 of the programme. ​Construction of the new hospital is anticipated to commence between 2037 to 2039. 

However, the Trust has been given funding by the New Hospital Programme to support us in progressing land searches and site selection work for a potential new hospital development. This work is expected to be completed in 2026 with a full report and recommendations submitted to the Trust Board.
