Pregnancy After Loss Service
We understand that pregnancy after the loss of a baby can be a very difficult time for families with parents needing for extra support as they navigate many mixed emotions.
Our Pregnancy after Loss service aims to provide personalised care to each family throughout their pregnancy and as they welcome their new baby into their family.
The Pregnancy after Loss team is made up of a lead consultant obstetrician and three midwives. They work together in partnership with families and other healthcare professionals providing specialist care for women and birthing people in pregnancies after a loss over 16 weeks, or a loss relating to a fetal abnormality at any gestation
This care is provided through a series of 4 dedicated pathways across 3 specialist clinics - The Rainbow Clinic, The Preterm Birth Clinic and The Fetal Medicine Clinic.
All referrals into the Pregnancy after loss service will be triaged into the appropriate pathway of care by one of the Specialist Midwives.
Each care pathway includes dedicated appointments with appropriate Midwives and Obstetricians and a series of specialist ultrasound scans.
Together we ensure that women, birthing people and their families are accompanied with clinical expertise, understanding and compassion throughout their pregnancy.
