RSV vaccinations in Pregnancy:

RSV can be a severe respiratory virus in babies and young children, and is responsible for around 20,000 hospital admissions a year in infants. Vaccination reduces the chances of your baby becoming hospitalised with RSV by 70-80%. More details can be found on the NHS website. 
 
Patients of our maternity services will be invited by text message to book after 28 weeks.
If you haven’t received a text message then booking is available on our RSV vaccine for pregnant women page, with clinics run from all sites .

RSV vaccinations in older adults:

As part of discharge planning for inpatients, we aim to offer vaccinations to eligible patients before they leave hospital. Priority is given to patients aged 75 years and over, particularly those who have experienced a prolonged hospital stay and are being discharged to a residential or nursing care home.

Patients may also be eligible if they:

• Are aged 75 years or over.
• Are aged 65 to 74 years and have a weakened immune system or a long-term lung condition (excluding well-controlled asthma).
• Are adults of any age living in a care home for older adults.

RSV vaccinations should be available from Book, change or cancel a RSV vaccination appointment - NHS or from your GP.

We provide Flu vaccinations to eligible patients helping to reduce the risk of serious illness during the flu season and protect those around you.

Flu Vaccine Dates

• Pregnant patients: 1 September 2026 to 31 March 2027
• Also available from 1st September,
  
  • All children aged 2 or 3 years on 31 August 2026 Primary school and secondary school-aged children (from reception to year 11) (individuals 17 years and over attending a special education needs (SEN) school and who are in a clinical risk group may also be vaccinated alongside their peers)
  • All children in clinical risk groups aged from 6 months to less than 18 years (as defined by the Green Book, Influenza Chapter) 
    (We do not provide flu vaccinations for eligible children. Please contact your GP to arrange this vaccination.)
• All other eligible patients: 1 October 2026 to 31 March 2027

Who Can Get a Free NHS Flu Vaccine?

You may be eligible for a free NHS flu vaccination if you:

• Are aged 65 or over, including anyone turning 65 by 31 March 2027
• Are aged 18 to 64 and have certain long-term health conditions
• Are pregnant
• Live in a care home
• Are the main carer for an older or disabled person, or receive Carer's Allowance
• Live with someone who has a weakened immune system
• Are experiencing homelessness or staying in a homeless hostel or night shelter
• Work as a frontline health or social care worker without an employer-led occupational health scheme

Whooping cough vaccinations are advised in each pregnancy. Whooping cough can be very dangerous for babies. Giving a vaccine in pregnancy means antibodies pass to baby through the placenta giving good protection from serious illness or death. You can read about the whooping vaccine on the NHS website.

Vaccinations are normally available from your GP provider after your 20 week scan. If you are struggling to access through you GP please use our RSV vaccine for pregnant women page, where you can select Pertussis and attend one of our clinics. If you attend for your RSV vaccine after 28 weeks and you have not had your whooping cough vaccine we will offer both at the same appointment.

Autumn 2026 COVID vaccinations will be available from the 1st of October.

• Adults aged 75 years and over
• Residents in care homes for older adults
• Individuals aged 6 months and over who are immunosuppressed, as defined in the COVID-19 chapter of the green book, the UK Health Security Agency’s information on immunisation against infectious disease

Year round Covid vaccinations are available for patients who are:

• 6 months post stem cell transplant requiring re-vaccination.
• About to start new treatment causing severe immunosuppression.
