Medical Education

We have a dedicated medical education team and are known for our great teaching to support your professional journey whether you're in your first post-graduate role or a senior doctor.

The Trust provides a comprehensive induction programme for all new trainee doctors which incorporates all the requisite mandatory, professional and educational information. A weekly teaching programme for foundation and specialist training grade doctors is managed by the Faculty of Medical and Dental Education is in place for everything you need to commence your new role.

Our training programmes are accessible wherever you are.

We have a great supporting mechanism for junior doctors with a forum to enable discussion on any issue they might be facing.

The Oxford Deanery supports trainee doctors during the time they work for the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust and Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and provides funding for the training grade scheme.

Vocational Training Scheme (VTS) - This scheme provides training that equips General Practitioners (GPS) of tomorrow with the skills to provide excellent care for their patients in an ever-changing climate and allows them to become life-long learners who can enjoy a fulfilling career.

The Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust - supports its own career grade doctors employed by the Trust and provides funding for the career grade scheme.
