Allied Health Professionals (AHP) are a diverse group of 14 different registered clinical staff providing diagnostic, technical and therapeutic patient care.
They cover occupational therapists, dietitians, operating department practitioners, orthotists, physiotherapists, speech and language therapist to radiographers (diagnostic and therapeutic).

"I was recruited to the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust in December 2015 as a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist leading the Stoke Speech and Language Therapy team. The recruitment process was absolutely seamless. My manager and the recruitment team worked closely together to ensure all my checks went through smoothly and a timely start date. In two years, I applied for an internal promotion and I was fortunate to be offered the position of Professional Lead for Adult Speech and Language Therapy. I interviewed whilst I was on maternity leave and the Trust recognised my suitability for the position and waited for me to come back from maternity leave to start my new role. I now manage a team of 14 speech and language therapists and work closely with the recruitment team on recruitment and retention. The Trust has provided me with many development opportunities and support including an apprenticeship for the Henley business management programme.
