There are two components of Pulmonary Rehabilitation (PR). These are:
PR is specifically designed for those with chronic lung conditions and breathlessness and is led by physiotherapists who are able to tailor the programme to your individual needs.
PR is run in a cohort group format, so you will attend every session with the same group of 13-15 other people.
The programme currently consists of an assessment week, followed by 6 weeks of exercise and education, then a final assessment week at the end. The assessment week allows the physiotherapists to tailor the programme to your needs and also allows for your progress to be measured throughout the programme. PR runs twice a week, on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2pm-4pm. You will be expected to attend both sessions each week in order to benefit from the programme.
Pulmonary Rehabilitation is held at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Inpatient Therapies, Level 1 Battle Block. This can be found opposite Whitley Ward and close to the League of Friends café.
Mondays and Wednesdays 2.00pm – 4.00pm
Classes also run in; Wokingham, Tilehurst, and Newbury.
