Loddon Ward

Welcome to Loddon Ward, specialising in the care of patients with acute respiratory conditions in addition to being an acute medical ward.

The patients are cared for in a single sex bays or single sex side rooms. Each single sex bay or single sex side rooms have a designated single sex toilet and washing facilities.

How to get here

Loddon Ward is located in Centre Block, Level 2, adjacent to Kennet Ward.


Ward visiting hours: The Trust has an open visiting policy with recommended visiting between 10am and 8pm. You may be asked to leave the bedside for therapies, medical examination and at mealtimes.

Visitors allowed: Two visitors per bed, except by agreement with ward sister or nurse in charge.

Any other information:

Children must be supervised at all times. For very ill patients, visiting hours can be relaxed, but the ward is very busy in the mornings. There are limited visitors’ rooms and there is access to a camp bed if visitors need to stay in side room with patient.

Mobile phones allowed: Yes, but please respect other patients by having a low ring tone and not using the phone at night when other patients are sleeping.
