Healthcare Science

To celebrate Healthcare Science Week 2021 we created a short film to highlight the role that science plays in healthcare, and the fantastic work that our healthcare scientists do here at the hospital.

How do I get into Healthcare science?

If you are at school or college, you will need A levels in science / maths so that you can apply to a BSc or BEng degree – you may be able to get straight on to a practitioner training programme (PTP).

If you are already studying science, technology, engineering or maths (STEM) subjects at university, you may be able to join a PTP, or after graduation join the scientist training programme (STP)

If you already have a higher degree in STEM, you may be eligible to join the NHS as a Route 2 / Equivalence direct entry.
