The EPU provides an urgent care service for complications associated with early pregnancy, including the diagnosis and management of miscarriage, ectopic pregnancies and other common early pregnancy-related problems.
The EPU is available for women who are in the early stages of pregnancy (between 6-16 weeks) and are experiencing pain, and/or vaginal bleeding.
This service is not available via Choose and Book. During regular opening hours please contact the Early Pregnancy Unit on 0118 322 7181 to make referrals for that day or to arrange the next available ultrasound scan appointment.

The service is available on working days (Monday-Friday), excluding bank holidays. Occasionally, additional clinics may be set up outside of ordinary opening times.
EPU is based on Sonning Ward. Park in the multi-storey car park in Craven Road. From the multi-storey car park either walk along Craven Road to the Maternity Unit or exit the car park on Level 2 and follow signs to the Maternity Unit. Take lift or stairs in Maternity Unit to Level 5.
