The EPU provides an urgent care service for complications associated with early pregnancy, including the diagnosis and management of miscarriage, ectopic pregnancies and other common early pregnancy-related problems.
The EPU is available for women who are in the early stages of pregnancy (between 6-16 weeks) and are experiencing pain, and/or vaginal bleeding.
This service is not available via Choose and Book. During regular opening hours please make referrals via secure NHS net. A copy of the guidance criteria can be found here. The email address for referrals is firstname.lastname@example.org.

The service is available on working days (Monday-Friday), excluding bank holidays. Occasionally, additional clinics may be set up outside of ordinary opening times.
EPU is based on Sonning Ward. Park in the multi-storey car park in Craven Road. From the multi-storey car park either walk along Craven Road to the Maternity Unit or exit the car park on Level 2 and follow signs to the Maternity Unit. Take lift or stairs in Maternity Unit to Level 5.
