Welcome to Burghfield Ward. We are an inpatient ward with 28-beds caring for acutely ill elderly patients. Burghfield Ward specialises in the care of older people, and is a single sex ward caring for female patients only. The ward also has some side rooms with en-suite facilities. These will be allocated based on clinical need and in exceptional circumstances may be used for male patients.
Ward visiting hours: Open visiting
The ward operates protected meal times - although relatives/carers who assist with feeding are welcome.

Exit the multi-storey car park on level 2. Follow the signs for all wards and departments, and take a right at the Welcome Desk. Continue through to Battle Block, and take the first set of stairs or lifts you come to on your left. Exit on level 3, and Burghfield Ward will be directly along the corridor.

Please try to arrange one family member to be main point of contact, as this avoids excessive phone calls. Please be aware of infection control policies with regard to hand washing and not sitting on patients’ beds.
