The Royal Berkshire Charity Soapbox Challenge is back!

After a fantastic first event in 2017, we are ready to do it all over again, and this year it’s going to be even better!

On Saturday 18 August amateur drivers will drift their homemade soapbox vehicles down the track at Englefield Park, near Theale in a bid for the coveted first place.

The non-motorised racing event will challenge entrants to design and build imaginative soapbox dream machines to race in two timed runs down the course. Each machine will be hand-made and fuelled by nothing but courage, adrenaline, and the force of gravity.  The fastest cart will be the winner!

Ian Thomson, Charity Director said: “We had an absolutely fabulous day last year and are really looking forward to this year’s event, it should be very exciting and great fun for both participants and spectators and a great fundraiser.

“I would like to say a huge thank you to the Benyon family, who have once again kindly allowed us to use their home, Englefield Park to host the event. Their continued support of the RBC is very much appreciated.”

Entries are strictly limited to 30, so get those toolboxes primed and get your entry in now to avoid disappointment.
