Welcome to the West Berkshire Community Hospital (WBCH). The Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust offers a wide range of services to help provide care closer to home to the population of Newbury and the surrounding area.
We have on site a renal dialysis unit called the Enborne unit.
The outpatient clinics available at WBCH can be found below, along with key information including contact details. Patients can access any of the services via a referral from their GP or another health care professional.
The clinics can offer patients a combination of face-to-face and video/telephone clinics.
You can choose whether or not to wear a face mask while visiting our Trust, unless you’re asked to wear a mask by our nursing staff.
Please use hand gel or wash your hands with soap and water.
Pay on exit parking is available at the hospital, as well as designated spaces for disabled parking, motorcycles and bicycles.
There is also a drop off point and a taxi rank near the main entrance.
A photo is taken as you enter the car park. When you need to leave, please insert your registration number in the payment machines in Reception which will advise how much you need to pay.
There is both a card machine and a cash payment machine available. A photo will be taken when you leave the car park to register the time you left the site.
Please ensure you enter the vehicle registration details correctly to ensure you don’t receive a fine.
Blue Badge holders: If you are a disabled blue badge holder, then you do not need to display your badge in the vehicle. Please take your blue badge to Reception as evidence and enter your registration number into the terminal to ensure you receive free parking.
There are regular bus services from both Newbury and Thatcham which stop at the hospital.
Newbury and District Limited operates buses connecting West Berkshire Community Hospital with Newbury and Thatcham up to every fifteen minutes under Kennet bus service numbers 1A, 1C and 1D. Timetables for all services can be found on this website.
There are designated bicycle parking spaces.
Our Patient Information Point (PIP) can provide you with information and about illnesses, health or social care services, or where you can get support for many different health conditions.
Our aim is to help you better understand what choices you have, so that you can manage your own health, as well as helping you make plans about the future.
We’re based at West Berkshire Community Hospital, opposite the main reception area.
We offer a quiet room where you can read leaflets and guides, or talk to one of our PIP Volunteers who can guide you to the right support websites and apps.
