**Update 25 April: Burst water pipe causing disruption to part of Royal Berkshire Hospital**

Following a burst water pipe on Sunday we have restored power to most parts of Battle Block and hope to have the remaining few areas back on power very soon. To enable us to manage this situation we have amended visiting (see below).

If you need medical attention, people with non emergency issues can use NHS 111/111 online or the Urgent Care Centre (UCC) in Broad Street Mall, Reading. The UCC is open 8am – 8pm, 7 days a week and people can walk-in to get help with minor illnesses.

In an emergency, like a suspected heart attack, stroke or severe bleeding, people should ring 999.

Visiting

Visiting patients in the following areas is not affected:

  • surgical wards
  • critical care
  • maternity unit

We’re pleased to report that visitors can once again visit patients in the following wards, but please be aware that the lifts in the Battle Block/North area are still not operating so people will have to use the stairs:

We are still working on restoring power in the below areas. Please arrange visiting with the nurse in charge:

Carers, and visitors to end of life patients are still able to visit as normal.
