Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust is one of top scoring Trusts in annual NHS Staff Survey

Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust is one of the highest performing Trust's for staff experience according to the results of this year's NHS Staff Survey.

The national annual survey is one of the largest workforce surveys in the world and is carried out every year to improve staff experiences across the NHS.

More than 3,400 staff at Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust took part in the survey in 2022 - the organisation's highest ever response rate.

The results highlight Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust is one of the best Acute Trust's in England for staff experience. The Trust was the highest scoring Trust in the following metrics:

  • "Care of patients/service users is my organisation's top priority" (86.6%)
  • "My organisation acts on concerns raised by patients/service users" (80.6%)
  • "The team I work in often meets to discuss the team's effectiveness" (67.1%).
  • "I am able to make improvements happen in my area of work" (61.9%).

Additionally, the Trust is amongst the highest scoring Trusts nationally for having a "Compassionate Culture", giving staff "Autonomy and Control" and enabling "Team Working".

The Trust also has made significant improvements on areas highlighted in previous years for improvement including "Recognition and Reward", "Opportunities to Develop", and "Compassionate and Inclusive Culture".

Over the past year, the Trust has made significant investments into the wellbeing of staff with the launch of our staff health and wellbeing centre, new psychological support, free health checks and more.
