The League of Friends of the Royal Berkshire Hospital aims to improve the care and comfort of patients, visitors and staff, above and beyond what is funded and provided by the NHS.
Since 1957, the League of Friends has raised funds for the Reading Hospitals. These days it is just the Royal Berkshire Hospital that remains, and its League of Friends has a clear aim and that is to improve the care and comfort of patients, visitors and staff, above and beyond what if funded and provided by the NHS.
New members and volunteers are always welcome.
The main activities that volunteers could help us with are:
- Assisting in our Friends Coffee house or maternity shop.
- Going around the wards with our 'trolley round' service.
- Assisting at one of our many fundraising events.
- Help to maintain some of the gardens in the hospital.
If you would like more information about our work or would like to join us as a volunteer, please call the League of Friends office on 0118 322 8592 or email email@example.com.
