Junior doctors strike called off
A spokesperson said: "The Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust had planned to run a significant number of outpatient and planned surgical procedures for patients on Tuesday 1 December. Some patients had been put on standby, and asked to attend if the strike was called off. Some had appointments rescheduled. These decisions were taken by senior doctors as the Trust was confident that it had the right and appropriate cover to manage safe planned care.
"We won't know the full impact of the industrial action on numbers of patients who did not attend clinics or operations until the end of the week when a full report will be prepared. We would like to thank our patients and our staff for the flexibility demonstrated which allowed us to plan to minimise disruption."
