Prince Charles Eye Unit

KE VII Windsor

The Prince Charles Eye Unit based in Windsor is a service for patients needing eye casualty.

PCEU runs a day surgery five days per week  consisting of:

  • 14 day surgery chairs
  • 3 GA beds
  • 2 Ophthalmic theatres

AMD Suite       
Five days per week including Saturday mornings, these run as  1st stop clinic so patients can receive their treatments on the same day.

We also run the following specialist clinics:

  • Cataract 1 stop where the patient receives their pre-op as part of this clinic
  • Ocular Plastics
  • Minor ops
  • Botox
  • Medical Retina including  Diabetics
  • AMD patients receive injections if required as part of their clinic visit
  • Vitro Retinal Surgical
  • Glaucoma
  • Corneal Clinics
  • Paediatrics with Orthoptic support
  • General clinics
  • Casualty reviews
  • Visual fields
  • Adult Orthoptics
  • Lasers
  • Post Operative follow ups

Opening hours for eye casualty at Prince Charles Eye Unit, Windsor

Monday - Friday 9am – 5pm
Saturday 9am – 12.30pm

Emergency eye care is also available via the on-call ophthalmologist at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust on 0118 322 5111 including Bank Holidays.

Patients may also use minor injury services at:

  • Slough walk-in centre, Upton Hospital
  • Wexham Park Hospital A&E
  • Minor Injuries Department St Marks Hospital, Maidenhead or Bracknell Healthspace, Brants Bridge, Bracknell
