Hello everyone, summer is here and unlike last year, the gardens are getting plenty of rain!
As always, we have had a couple of busy months. Leaving aside the incredible activity at the Trust’s locations, we have also been looking at how we further translate our now well communicated strategy, into actions. They say that the only constant, is change itself, well here at your Trust we are familiar with change across everything we do and have been managing it for over 180 years!
With changes in health demands and developments in technology and innovation, we will need to continue to manage these changes. So, to accelerate this we have established a number of leadership and strategic actions to consider what change we need to be planning for and investing in over the next 5-10 years. Your Governors are fully involved and so please feed your thoughts into them and I will keep you informed of our progress through Pulse.
Blending both our past year, the year ahead and our strategic plans for the long term, I was extremely proud to head-up our recent AGM, and share with some of you the successes at the Trust for which I cannot commend highly enough the wonderful teams who deliver health services 24/7. We had a very healthy discussion and an extended question and answer session during which we expanded even further on what has really gone well in the last year and a few of the challenges we are currently managing. If you were unable to make the event but would like to know more you can watch the video of the evening here.
Thank you for all your support. Being a Member is a critical part of our Trust governance and you are our eyes on the community we serve. I expect to attend all of our Member events this year and, would love it if you could come to one near you, and to our hospital Open Day on 7th September where there will be further opportunities for discussion which I always find helpful.
Many thanks once again.
