Have you ever fancied trying something a little out of the ordinary to raise money for charity?
If so, our list of Open Challenges might appeal to your sense of adventure. You can ride a horse across Mongolia, take part in a world record breaking attempt skydive, wing walk, trek across the beautiful Brecon Beacons, or even take on a challenging trip to an Icelandic glacier.
Open Challenges are a fun and easy way for you to support the RBC – we hope you find something that grabs your attention, but if not please do let us know what you are planning. We love to hear about all of our supporters efforts.
Join us for TrekFest – The Beacons on Saturday 6 July 2019! The Brecon Beacons National Park is full of stunning scenery, rolling countryside and impressive mountains. This incredible mountain range runs through the centre of South Wales and is a training ground of the SAS – it will test you to your limits with challenging climbs and steep descents. Both the 25km and 50km routes venture to the summit of Pen Y Fan – the highest peak in southern Britain. From here you’ll witness just how beautiful and diverse this National Park really is!

We are passionate about what we do here at the Royal Berks and we couldn’t do it without the support of our donors, fundraisers, volunteers and our own staff at the hospital. From small family run events to the larger ones run by the charity we are always looking for something new. Perhaps you can help us by submitting ideas for us to consider, a summer barbecue in a local meadow, a bed race round a local park or a soap box derby. A member of staff has already suggested a Bake Off Competition – great idea. Get your thinking caps on and let us have your suggestions. Keep it local, keep it simple and always remember that we need to recruit volunteers as well as participants.
