The Department of Sexual Health is at condoms
21a Craven Road, Reading. It combines Genito-Urinary Medicine (GUM) and Contraceptive Services (Family Planning).

'Walk-in' clinics – no appointment needed.

Monday to Friday: 7am to 7pm.

The clinic will be closed for staff training every Thursday from 8am to 9am.  Only very urgent cases will be seen by the senior nurse on duty.

Please note that we are closed on all Bank and Public Holidays

We will endeavour to see everyone. However, if between 6.00 p.m. and 7.00 p.m. attendance is high we may ask you to return the next day.

Drop-in clinic for HIV testing
HIV testing during walk in clinic times:
Monday to Friday 7am to 7pm.

Please note:  All male patients are required NOT to pass urine for at least 60 minutes prior to seeing the doctor or nurse.  This is espically important for Chlamydia testing.

Wednesday: 8.30 am to11.00am.

Emergency contraception

Emergency contraception is available to patients of all ages. If you require emergency contraception call in to any of the 'walk-in' clinics, Monday to Friday 7 am – 7 pm.

Are you over 25?

If you require contraceptive services you should make an appointment with your GP. If he or she is unable to help you we have several specialist clinics that they may refer you to. These clinics are by appointment only.

If you have run out of pills and are unable to get an appointment with your GP, we will be happy to issue you with three month’s supply.
