How to get there
X-ray Level 1
The CT, MRI Fluoroscopy and Interventional
Radiology areas are based within the X-ray Department, and can be
found on Level 1 in the Centre Block of the Royal Berkshire
Hospital.
If you use the multi-storey car park on Craven
Road, you will enter the hospital on Level 2. Follow the signs for
all wards and departments and use the stairs or lifts down to Level
1 in the main corridor in Centre Block. If you need help finding
your way, ask at the main reception on Level 2 or at the Welcomers'
desk.
Wheelchair access: Wheelchairs and an electric
buggy are also usually available near the main reception area to
help patients with mobility problems.
X-ray Level 2
The X-ray Department is located on Level 2 of
the Centre Block in the Royal Berkshire Hospital.

Patient Guide – what to bring / how to
prepare: Preparation for radiology procedures varies
according to what is required and the type of imaging modality
used. If preparation is required, an appointment letter will
be sent to explain the procedure and preparation. Please
avoid bringing valuables to the department with you.
General X-ray procedures require no
preparation.
Please note that pregnancy is
a contraindication for most procedures involving radiation.
