The Pain Management Unit provides a
comprehensive pain management service for adults with chronic
pain.
We run a multi-disciplinary team
consisting of doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and
psychologists.
The team offers advice, treatment and support to patients
referred for specialist treatment. Pain management services offered
include medication review and prescriptions, transcutaneous
electrical nerve stimulation (TENS), injection treatments, nerve
blocks and specialist physiotherapist and psychological support
including pain management programmes.

Patient guide – what to bring / how to
prepare:
At their first consultation, all patients are
seen by a pain specialist. Patients should bring with them their
list of medication. If further treatments are decided at this
consultation, patients will be given the appropriate information
leaflets about what they may need to bring on a future
occasion.
