Children's A&E

If you are under five bring your red book

Children's A&E and Assessment Unit

If you are ill you might be referred to the Unit by your doctor. We will carry out a number of tests on you so that we can find out how to make you better.

We are located in Level 3 Centre Block, Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust, London Road, Reading, RG1 5AN. Our number is 0118 322 7041.

What should I bring?

If you are under five please bring your red book which is your health record. You might meet one of our play leaders during your visit. We have a wide range of toys, games, crafts, books and DVDs for you to play with.

Please bring details of any medications that you are taking. Bring the medications themselves if you are due to take a dose while you are here.

What's it like?

We will do our very best to keep waiting times as short as possible, but if we are very busy - and you are not too hurt or ill - you may have to wait longer than expected.
