Children (Paediatrics)

The Paediatric Department child
provides a high quality
comprehensive service comprising general paediatrics and the full range of sub-specialties.

These include paediatric endocrinology, diabetes, cystic fibrosis, asthma, allergy, metabolic disease, cardiology, neurology and epilepsy, rheumatology, oncology and gastroenterology.

There are joint clinics with consultants in Cardiology, Neurology, Haematology, Metabolic Diseases, Oncology, Nephrology and Paediatric Surgery, but these can only be accessed by referral to one of the consultant paediatricians.

All of the consultants are general paediatricians with an interest and we welcome referrals for any general paediatric problem.

The Children’s Clinic is a modern, light, airy, spacious, child and family-friendly environment with an excellent play-room and play specialist. Out-reach clinics are held at West Berkshire Community Hospital, Newbury, Townlands Hospital, Henley-on-Thames and Wallingford Community Hospital.

The Paediatric Department sees all referrals in a General Paediatrics Clinic. Paediatric patients are also seen in Paediatric ENT, Paediatric Ophthalmology, Paediatric Oral Surgery, Paediatric Dermatology, Paediatric Orthopaedic and Paediatric Urology Clinics.
