Sidmouth ward is an acute medical ward specialising in gastro-enterology, and also patients undergoing medical investigations. Patients are cared for in single sex bays. Each single sex bay has a designated single sex toilet and washing facilities adjacent to the bay.
You are welcome to visit at any time but if you intend to visit before 9am or after 9pm, please arrange this with the senior sister or nurse in charge. This helps to ensure that open visiting doesn’t interfere with nursing and clinical needs, and doesn’t adversely affect the quality of any patients' stay while in hospital.
A maximum of three visitors at any one time is allowed. For safety reasons, children should be kept under supervision.
Sidmouth ward is located in Battle Block, level two of the Royal Berkshire NHS Trust. Enter via the main entrance on Craven road; turn right at the welcome desk. Sidmouth is down the corridor adjacent from Castle Ward. Please use the call entry system located on the wall next to the main entrance doors to the ward.
