Eye Day Unit

Welcome to the Eye Day Unit (for patients having eye surgery on a day visit basis).


Unit hours: 7.00am-7.00pm

How to get here

The Eye Day Unit is on level 3 in Eye Block of the Royal Berkshire Hospital. Park in multi-storey car park in Craven Road. Join the Main Entrance block at level 2. Turn right past reception, passing the shops (signed All Wards and Departments). At the welcomers desk turn right down the steps into the Eye Block. Opposite the eye clinic are lifts to level 3, Head and Neck Unit. Alternatively stairs are located around the corner to the right. Go up one flight to level 3.

Your immediate post operative recovery may be on Dorrell Ward which is mixed sex ward although men and women are in separate bays or rooms. You will remain here where you will be monitored closely until you are well enough to go home.
