Endoscopy means looking inside the body for medical reasons using an instrument called an endoscope. The unit deals with in and out patient day cases.
Visitors are not allowed as this is a day case investigation area and no facilities for visitors. Patients can bring a friend or relative prior to the start of procedure but they will not be allowed to stay with during the procedure or while they recover but they will be notified as to when they are ready to be collected to return home.
Endoscopy is on Craven Road, next to the Maternity block. There is a small pay and display car park for patients in front of the Endoscopy building. If this is full, park in the multi storey further down Craven Road and walk back up the road. Access to the unit is only from Craven Road and not though the main Hospital.
There is a drop off bay in front of the unit and also disabled parking spaces directly in front of the unit. The unit is fully accessible by wheel chair users and if no parking available in front of unit and park in the multi storey please access is through the main hospital. Any further concerns please talk to Endoscopy staff on 01189 3227459 to arrange any individual needs.
