If your practice has electronic requesting, please use this service rather than raising paper orders.
All radiology and pathology orders are delivered electronically to GPs.
GPs please use ice to access patient results with immediate effect. As part of the consolidation of Pathology in to a Berkshire and Surrey Pathology service (BSPS), The Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust is moving its Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) over to use software used by our partners. This will be the same as the system used by the Wexham LabCentre. This migration is taking place speciality to speciality. The first service, Blood Transfusion, moved on Tuesday 11 October. There is no direct impact on the results sent to GPs and practices. All orders will continue to be placed through ICE and results will come back in to the practice system as usual.
There is one process change: for disciplines using the Wexham LIMS the results will not be available in WebPath, through the GP Portal. To mitigate this, ALL GP and hospital results will, in future, be stored in the ICE system; this has been the case for several weeks. In order to avoid confusion about where to look up results as different specialities migrate to Wexham, we strongly recommend that GPs begin to use ICE to view all current and future results, leaving WebPath access for historic results.
The Pathology Handbook is a guide to all the laboratory services including phlebotomy and post mortem, and includes information on specimen containers, consumable supplies, reference ranges and special precautions for certain tests.
Radiology reports are now available electronically to all practices and are distributed in the same way as discharge letters. GP and Hospital Radiology reports are being sent to ICE
