League of Friends

 

The League of Friends of the Royal Berkshire Hospital aims to improve the care and comfort of patients, visitors and staff, above and beyond what is funded and provided by the NHS.

New volunteers and members are always welcome. 

The main activities that you could help the League of Friends with are:

  • staffing retail outlets around the hospital, some of which are open 7 days a week
  • assisting at fundraising events such as the fete
  • collecting on flag collection days throughout the Reading area.

There is a League of Friends shop on level 2 in the Maternity Block, offering snacks, drinks, newspaper and magazines, toiletries, baby clothing, greeting cards and gifts. Open Monday to Friday 8.00am to 5.00pm and Saturday and Sunday from 10am until 4pm.

Friends Coffee House is open seven days a week and is located in the Conservatory on level 1 Battle Block. It sells hot and cold drinks, cold snacks and sandwiches plus paninis, and jacket potatoes.
