The Reading & District Hospitals Charity operates from the Appeal Office at the RBFT, providing fundraising advice and administrative support for various charitable funds held by the Trust and West Berkshire Community Hospital.
The origins of the Charity go back to 1986, and the charity now looks after over 40 funds supporting a wide range of wards and departments. The Charity aims to assist in fundraising for “extras” that are outside the range of the NHS budget to the benefit of patients within the area covered by the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust.
The charity is completely separate from the NHS and the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust. However, it works closely with the Trust, which is represented on their board of Trustees.
