The Trust’s annual Members’ Open Day provides visitors with the opportunity to find out more about the work of the Trust and to get a closer look at some of the services we provide.
This year, key note speakers, consultant cardiologist Dr Jon Swinburn, and consultant rheumatologist and physician Dr Antoni Chan will give an insight into how, through the use of technology, patients medical records will be available at the touch of a button to all clinicians involved in a patient’s care, no matter where they are, and how a new electronic medicines administration system will help to support safer patient care.
Attendees will be able to see first-hand how the new electronic patient record system works at one of the many informative stands that will be showcasing the outstanding work taking place across the Trust.
Other areas on show will include the work of the research and development team, patient experience, infection prevention and control, and a range of therapies. The Trust’s Governors will also be available to explain the work they do.
Along with the opportunity to meet staff and Governors there will be a variety of the ever popular departmental tours. Visitors will get a behind the scenes look at cardiology, central theatres, pharmacy and the medical museum. The resuscitation team and the clinical skills team will also be providing demonstrations in the simulation centre on recognising a deteriorating patient, and on resuscitation.
All attendees will also be entered into a free prize draw for the chance to win some great prizes.
