Continuing professional development

The Continuing Professional Development (CPD) tutor provides educational support and a programme of local educational events to General Practitioners (GPs) in practices in West Berkshire.

The Faculty of Medical Education provides support to the CPD tutor.

The Faculty also (in liaison with Trust consultants) co-ordinates and administers a programme of inter-professional and multi-disciplinary events for GPs and other health care professionals in primary care.

 Injection techniques in the hand, including carpal tunnel syndrome

 Orthotic sessions:

  • Foot and ankle workshop (hands on assessment for groups of under 10)
  • How to manage the top 3 adult and paediatric foot pathologies in primary care
  • Conservative management of the diabetic foot
  • Gait analysis and its application for the MSK and neuro population
  • Orthotic management of neuromuscular conditions
  • Orthotic prescription from Head to toe - what, when and why
