Within this organisation we look to
constantly develop our most important assets – you. Whatever
your role, wherever you are based you will be given opportunities
to develop and learn to help you to achieve your potential.
We hold annual performance appraisals to
help you to understand your strengths and development areas.
These discussions will help you to create a development plan that
is unique to you.
Support for beginners
We will help you to familiarise yourself to your area,
department or ward as
well as to your team and to your role. Our Core Induction
will equip you with
the essential information and training to help you. This is
supported by our
six week induction check list to help you to familiarise yourself
with your surroundings and role.
For clinical staff, we also enrol you in a tailored Induction to
equip you for the area in which you will be working.
Learning Opportunities
We will encourage you to take ownership of
your development and get full support from your line manager.
We run specialist, clinical and generalist courses to support your
development as well as e-learning programmes. If
you have a clinical leadership role you will have the opportunity
to take part
in a collaborative leadership programme designed to help develop
the leadership potential of nurses, midwives and allied health
professionals.
Learning Accounts
If you do not have a professional
qualification we can provide you with £150 to enable you to develop
within your role (through the NHS Learning Accounts Scheme).
Clinical Skills Development
We will provide you with training, support and
assessment in skills such as venepuncture, cannulation, intravenus
drug administration, naso gastric tubes and male catheterisation if
the skills are relevant to your role.
Trust Library

work related enquiries. We have a number of PC’s available
